Our age group programs teach the art of Jiu-Jitsu with a safe, fun, and dynamic methodology. Our instructors are world champions who have a passion for teaching this art to the next generation. Through movement, games, group exercises, techniques, and live training, we provide instruction in a safe, high-energy, and age-appropriate manner. Our goal is to prepare students for life’s challenges both on and off the mat. At Valley Kid Athletics, our Technical Movement Classes are a vital part of our curriculum, designed to refine your technique and elevate your martial arts practice. These classes focus on the precise execution of movements, ensuring that you develop the skills needed to advance confidently in your training.
To enhance your learning experience, progress through our belt ranks will involve memorization testing of the techniques covered in class. This approach not only reinforces your understanding but also prepares you for the challenges ahead. Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, a sport, and a way of life. This program provides a comprehensive introduction to Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and responsible manner, avoiding the potentially dangerous submission holds used at more advanced levels. We lay a foundation through movement, basic techniques, and a variety of games that build discipline, friendship, and gross motor skill development. Students will learn takedowns, how to fall safely, basic self-defense, positional control, and basic tumbling. No experience necessary.

Each session begins with dynamic movements to warm up the body, followed by focused drills that challenge your adaptability and decision-making skills in realistic scenarios. This approach allows students to develop the necessary techniques and fluidity without the inclusion of traditional strength training or sparring, ensuring a concentrated focus on refining your innate responses in the practice of martial arts.
